By default, most trackpads on Windows 11 PCs allow you to “click” by softly tapping the touchpad surface. If you don’t like this (and would rather use a physical button to click), you can turn it off in Settings. Here’s how.
First, open Windows Settings by pressing Windows+i on your keyboard. Or you can open the Start menu, search for “Settings,” then click the Settings app icon.

When Settings opens, click “Bluetooth & Devices” in the sidebar, then select “Touchpad.”
In Windows 11 Settings, click "Bluetooth & Devices" in the sidebar, then select "Touchpad."
In Touchpad settings, scroll down to the “Taps” section and click it to expand the menu. Then uncheck “Tap with a single finger to single-click,” “Tap with two fingers to right-click,” and “Tap twice and drag to multi-select.”
Uncheck the "tap" options.
After that, close Settings. Tap-to-click has been disabled on your Windows 11 touchpad. From now on, you’ll need to perform pointer clicks with your trackpad by either physically pushing down (and clicking) the trackpad itself or by using separate buttons near the trackpad. Good luck!
